My Approach
My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, person-centered, and strengths-based, helping you become empowered through building skills, improving relationships, and strengthening your relationship and confidence in yourself. I believe in catering to your specific needs and the goals you would like to achieve. The most common theoretical modalities that I use are Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness-based approaches. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy.
My communication style
I value consistency and dependability. I am committed to supporting you through your journey by providing a calm, safe, nonjudgmental space. I believe that therapy sessions can be some of the most intimate moments and I feel that it is a true privilege to be a part of that journey. I understand the depth of how alone someone may feel during challenging times and my intent is to create a space where you feel safe and heard.
My journey to mental healthcare
My journey in this field began almost 20 years ago after pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. I began working in human services with families in a variety of settings and after 10 dedicated years in the field, I decided to pursue further education and achieved my Master's degree in Social Work. I have been practicing therapy since and have experience working with a multitude of issues with a diverse population.
My goals for you
The relationship between a therapist and a client is a partnership and I work together with you to identify and work towards your goals. Don't know what your goals are or where to start? That's okay. I will work with you to explore your values, what is working versus not working, and explore ways you can live a more fulfilling and meaningful life
